NPOKI, NetHope, InsideNGO

On Tuesday, January 12th, 2016 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM ET, we will present a free webinar:

Skype for Business, Microsoft’s “New” Communications & Collaboration App

Many people are familiar with the free version of Skype, a popular application for video chat and voice calls. Many are also familiar with Lync, a robust communications and conferencing app that was part of the Microsoft Office Suite. Those products have undergone a bit of transformation. Here’s the timeline:

  • Program & Project Management
  • May 2011 – Microsoft purchases Skype
  • November 2014 – Microsoft announces that Lync would be replaced by Skype for Business in 2015, which would combine features of Lync and the consumer Skype software
  • April 2015 – Microsoft officially launches Skype for Business
  • September 2015 – Skype for Business 2016 is released alongside Office 2016

So what is Skype for Business? What are its features? How is it different from Lync or the consumer version of Skype? How much does it cost? How does it integrate with other MS Office products? How secure is it? Why would my organization use Skype for Business as a multi-client collaborative software solution?

Please join Ken Supersano, Senior Director of Technology at Save the Children, and Sam Chenkin, Director of Operations at Tech Impact, to learn more about Skype For Business.
